Caldwell, Idaho – Best Bath Systems has added new models and options to its line of Oasis Seated Shower Systems, which provide a safe, dignified, and independent means of bathing for those with limited mobility, whether in a private home or in an assisted-living facility.
The Oasis system utilizes an innovative, stable seating surface of four moving pads that independently raise and lower to expose areas of the body and permit spray from the nozzles to thoroughly wash and rinse; an automated system dispenses water, soap, and shampoo through strategically placed sprays and jets. (See the Seated Shower in action here.) The easy-to-read control panel includes a 9-foot cord that allows the unit to be operated by the user or by a caretaker from outside the room, increasing dignity for the bather.
The original Oasis “TopWorks” model has three fixed showerheads that provide a fine, soothing spray. The new model features a handheld shower wand in lieu of fixed sprays, offering additional flexibility for the individual user or for caregiver-assisted bathing.
It takes just minutes to install, and the Oasis does not require costly bathroom remodeling. Simply position it in an accessible shower area, remove the existing shower head, and attach the hose with the connection kit. It also features commercial-grade pneumatic casters and removable armrests, allowing the Oasis system to be moved easily from room to room. A new battery-powered option further increases ease of transport.
The units are made in the USA with Best Bath’s durable, easy-to-clean gelcoat/fiberglass construction. White or bone colors are available, along with a range of custom and solidsurface hues. Pads come in black, gray, or beige.
The system accommodates bathers from 4 feet 10 inches to 6 feet 5 inches and up to 500 pounds. It meets IAPMO IGC 289, Standard for Portable Seated Personal Showering Systems.
